It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric Tew, a beloved and cherished member of The Luc Cochran Foundation (TLCF) family. Eric, from Mission, British Columbia, was the brother of Natasha Tew, TLCF’s Director of Philanthropy, and a beacon of kindness, strength, and resilience. His warmth, generosity, and steadfast commitment to helping others left an indelible mark on everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
Eric’s life was not without its struggles. Living with a traumatic brain injury and navigating the challenges of being disabled, Eric faced many adversities that would have deterred most. Yet, instead of allowing these difficulties to define him, he used them as fuel to deepen his compassion and extend his understanding to others. His strength, courage, and determination were evident in how he continued to give back and stay connected to his community, inspiring all who crossed his path. Despite the hardships he endured, Eric’s spirit remained one of hope, positivity, and grace.
Throughout his life, Eric exemplified the values of selflessness and service. His heart was always open, and his willingness to make the world a better place was unwavering. His involvement with The Luc Cochran Foundation and other community initiatives allowed him to channel his life experiences into supporting those who needed it most, turning his challenges into a source of strength for others. Eric’s resilience in the face of adversity serves as a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the impact one person can have on countless lives.
We ask for your prayers and continued support for Natasha, the Tew family, and all of our staff as we navigate this heartbreaking loss. Losing Eric leaves a void that cannot easily be filled, but we are committed to carrying forward his legacy of kindness, resilience, and compassion in everything we do at TLCF.
To honor Eric’s life and legacy, The Luc Cochran Foundation will be establishing The Tew Scholarship, dedicated to providing educational opportunities for young people in need. This scholarship will be a testament to Eric’s unwavering belief in the power of education and his passion for helping others, ensuring that his generous spirit continues to live on. In addition, all donations made in Eric’s memory will go directly toward supporting the Tew family during this difficult time and toward launching The Tew Scholarship, providing a lasting impact in Eric’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made to The Luc Cochran Foundation. Your contributions will not only support the Tew family but also help create opportunities for future generations to overcome their own challenges, just as Eric did. His life serves as an enduring reminder that even in the face of hardship, compassion and kindness have the power to create lasting change.
Eric's kindness, courage, and dedication to others will never be forgotten. Though we mourn the loss of such a remarkable individual, we find solace in knowing that his legacy of resilience and generosity will live on through the lives he touched and the opportunities he will continue to create.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity as we remember and celebrate the life of Eric Tew. Through your support, we will carry his light forward, ensuring his spirit continues to inspire and uplift us all.
